PuppEX (Puppy Linux) Resolute64 LXQt compatible with Ubuntu 26.04 LTS “Resolute Raccoon” :: Build 260804

NEWS ABOUT PuppEX Resolute64 LXQt with the LXQt 2.3.0 Desktop Environment – Build 260804
This Puppy derivative is made by me. It is built from Ubuntu 26.04 (Resolute Raccoon) packages and packages built from woof-CE Recipes. This PuppEX Build uses kernel 7.0.11. This is possibly one of the best PuppEX versions I’ve ever made. Everything just works! I could run the system very well on all of my six different computers. Among them on a really old computer Acer Aspire 5102WLMi from 2006. Study all installed packages in this PuppEX Build.
NOTE: Ubuntu 26.04 will be supported until April, 2031. Note also that you can use the Apt command (apt update, apt upgrade, apt install MyUsefulPackage etc.) and Synaptic for installing thousands of new Ubuntu packages in PuppEX Resolute64 LXQt.

REPLACEMENT
This PuppEX Build (260804) replaces Build 2607025, which used the ROX Desktop Environment. The LXQt Desktop is more useful than ROX. I think.

INSTALL PuppEX Resolute64 LXQt to HARD DRIVE
That is best done in the same way (frugal) as regards PuppEX Noble64. Read about how to do that…
NOTE: The best way to run PuppEX (or any other Puppy Linux system) is still to run it from a USB stick and save the system changes on the stick. You will be asked about saving when you reboot or shutdown your computer. Watch this screenshot…

IMPORTANT NOTE: The normal remasterpup2 script (which is included in all Puppy Linux versions) doesn’t work in PuppEX Resolute64 LXQt. The remasterpup2 script works very well in PuppEX Trixie64 though. It works very well in PuppEX Slack64 15.0 too.
NOTE: PuppEX Resolute64 LXQt uses the original Ubuntu 26.04 repositories. Ubuntu 26.04 LTS will be supported until April 2031…

PERFORMANCE
This PuppEX Resolute64 Build from 260804 runs very well on ALL “normal” computers. Hardware acceleration and 3D graphics work. Watch this screenshot…

DEVELOPMENT TOOLS
If you need development tools you shall download and load devx_puppex_26.04.sfs. Put devx in the folder where you have “installed” (frugal) PuppEX and then click on it to load it. Test it by running the command which make.
