How to make a frugal install of PuppEX Forky64/Trixie64
To be able to make a frugal
installation of PuppEX Forky64/Trixie64 (and other Puppy Linux
systems) you must have at least one Linux system installed on your computer
and use Grub as boot
loader. Download puppex-trixie64-lxqt-uefi-856mb-250829.iso
and extract the ISO file. It will look like this - see below.

We are only interested in the folder live. Make a folder called (for
example) PUPPEX-TRIXIE64-LXQT in the root (/) of your Linux
system. Then extract the folder live (from the ISO) to the folder
PUPPEX-TRIXIE64-LXQT. See the contents of the folder live below.

To be able to boot up PuppEX Trixie64 you must finally edit your Grub
configuration. Insert the lines below to /boot/grub/grub.cfg (or to
/etc/grub.d/40_custom).
menuentry 'PuppEX Trixie LXQt (FRUGAL /dev/nvme0n1p4) 250829' --class
gnu-linux --class gnu --class os $menuentry_id_option
'osprober-gnulinux-simple-d00e1237-935c-4e30-9fd4-9f1e247fe22a' {
load_video
insmod gzio
if [ x$grub_platform = xxen ]; then insmod xzio; insmod
lzopio; fi
insmod part_gpt
insmod ext2
search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set=root
d00e1237-935c-4e30-9fd4-9f1e247fe22a
linux /PUPPEX-TRIXIE64-LXQT/live/vmlinuz1 edd=off
noauto from=UUID:d00e1237-935c-4e30-9fd4-9f1e247fe22a/PUPPEX-TRIXIE64-LXQT
changes=UUID:d00e1237-935c-4e30-9fd4-9f1e247fe22a/PUPPEX-TRIXIE64-LXQT
initrd /PUPPEX-TRIXIE64-LXQT/live/initrd1.xz
}
NOTE: The UUID above shall (of course) be the same as the one your
installed Linux system has. You don't have to do anything else. Just boot up
PuppEX Trixie64 and be happy!
